Bio

I had a wonderful Home-EC teacher in high school, Jackie Keymer. She taught us many things including tie-dye! I have been dying fabric ever since, (1974)! I started dying fabric for clothing and then began to use it in my quilting. I took my first quilt class when my oldest son was a baby, 19 years ago! I continued to take classes and dying fabric. Several years ago I began over dying clothing and vintage linens. This led to over dying a set of vintage ticking curtains I had found at a antique shop. I loved the results, thus began the search for a ticking I could over dye and quilt with! Collett Fenske Fabric is the result of this search. I love finding new ways to use this beautiful fabric. At this same time I was hand dying cotton-linen for clothing. I loved this fabric so much, I decided to try quilting with it. I am very happy with the quilts made with this fabric. I use the cotton linen fabric for all my surface design. I continue to expand my skills with needle, thread and dye.

I live and dye in Northern California in the redwood forest. I am a single mother with 2 fabulous sons. Taylor my oldest is in college. My youngest son Spencer is in high school.

Taylor is a health/physical education major on the way to his Master's degree. He also plays college basketball. He would love to coach college ball some day!

Spencer is a gifted musician, he writes beautiful songs and is a local ROCK STAR!!!
